pAt 1510 hrs. the fire department was dispatched to the intersection of Vreeland Ave. and Hillcrest Ave. for a report of a utility pole on fire. LE-7 was first due and found a utility pole burning approximately 5 feet down from the top. LE-7 was shortly followed by Engine 1 and Ladder 1 who responded and secured the area. Companies stood by until the arrival of Public Service Electric. While members awaited the arrival of the utility company the pole burned through causing the numerous power lines to arc and fall. Ultimately approximately 1200 hundred PSnbspspan fcktemp1spanElectric customers lost power for abpproximately one hour while repairs were made. All fire companies returned to service at 1710 hrs.brp
